Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - Session Zero - Life Path Creation

One of the most interesting things is how the intentions of the players changed as their characters progressed through the lifepath. None of them turned out the way they planned, but I think it made for better storytelling as the series has progressed.
Just a reminder, that these characters were made using the original ALPHA rules and so a few things have changed since then with the release of BETA and the final rules version so some things will be a little different.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP01 - "The Morning After"
A group of unlikely companions come together in an old ruin on a farm near Kalisz Poland on July 1st 2000. They have come for different reasons but they are all trying to survive the madness of World War III that is ravaging the land. Bands of Soviet soldiers will be the least of their problems as hunger, thirst, disease, radiation, and some of their own dark pasts will be their greatest challenges. Welcome to the dark world of survival in the dawn of the 21st Century. Welcome to Twilight 2000.

The survivors continue to prepare for their night time escape from Minka’s farm; but when one of them goes missing the group must decide whether to go searching for them or to leave them behind. Welcome to the dark world of survival in the dawn of the 21st Century. Welcome to Twilight 2000.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP03 - "The Not O.K. Corral"
The time for talk is over. The group of survivors travel south to try to help a group of farmers and come face to face with the College. Lead will fly and the group (and players) will learn just how deadly this world is.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP04 - "Get Some!"
The firefight continues with the marauders at the farm house. The body count gets higher and the group sees first-hand the horrors of war. One of the survivors finds themselves having to choose between their principles and their humanity in the dark future of Twilight 2000.
The group of survivors finds themselves shaken up after the firefight at the farm with members of the College. They gather up a big stash of weapons from the dead and decide to try to sell them at a nearby town.
As the group settles in to a temporary camp, Gunnery Sergeant Mason tries to come to terms with executing the two American deserters while trying to take stock of how the group is doing.
In the end, someone has to go to the town and try to sell the equipment or find out it's a trap.

Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP06 - "Easy Come, Easy Go"
Minka and Pavlov return to the group with good news, the town of Ostrzeszow and it's leader, Radislov, are willing to trade them much needed goods for their excess weapons. Minka and Pavlov return to the town with Blanco and Zofie, who is hoping to find information about her relatives. The group's spirits are high at the prospect of getting new gear and maybe even some luxury goods. On a day like this, even the dark world of the apocalypse doesn't seem so bad.

Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP07 - "Broken Arrow"
The group of survivors deals with the aftermath of having all of their ill gotten goods taken from them by the College and the revelation that the College is looking for a downed aircraft. The group does some soul searching and some strategizing to plan out their next move; but, life in the dark and unforgiving world of Twilight 2000 likes to throw the most unexpected things their way, plans be damned.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP08 - "Good Nuke Hunting"
The survivors have found what the College is so desperately looking for, a Russian nuclear warhead in a crashed plane. Now that they have found it, what do they do about it? But nukes are not the groups only problems. They are getting low on water and fuel and for one of them, their past has just caught up with them.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP09 - "The Fast and the F#$ked"
In this episode, Axel is taken prisoner by the GRU officer that Zofie stabbed in the eye and Minka demonstrates that if the war hadn't broken out she could have taken gold in the 400 meter dash. The rest of the survivors encounter a ghost from Blanco's past who now works for the College. When shots are fired, Mason leads the group on a wild ride through the woods to save them, dragging the nuke behind them on a makeshift sled. In the chaos, Blanco begins planning for the endgame.
Twilight 2000 - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP10 - "Jump the Shark"
Every show has to do it at some point and we hit that point in this episode. The group of survivors come together to save Minka and Axel from a group of Russian soldiers and the GRU officer that Zofie stabbed in the eye. Blanco does his best Slim Pickens as he rides the nukes while placing a very real bomb on it while Zofie is speeding toward the bridge. Zofie's need for revenge and Miserable Beast's unquenchable lust for blood lead to some gruesome endings for some of the Russian soldiers. It's 80's action movie time for our group of survivors in the harsh world of Twilight 2000.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP11 - "Incoming!"
The battle on the bridge continues. Axel tries to stay alive surrounded by Russian soldiers while trying to wrestle with the fact that Zofie is the daughter of the very Russian commander he is fighting with. The group has been lucky so far but luck can only last so long with so many bullets flying through the air. This is violence World War III style and death stalks the bridge like...well like a ghost. Then there is that Russian with the radio calling something in, wonder what that could be?
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP12 - "Daddy Issues"
The battle on the bridge continues with Russian artillery raining in on the battlefield and nearly everyone on the team with an injury. The fight hangs in the balance between victory and defeat. Blanco continues to earn his reputation as a ghost, Pavlov lets everyone know that he has been shot, repeatedly, and Zofie comes face to face with her past.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP13 - "Back to School"
The group is taken in as "guests" at the college with a nuke rigged to blow as insurance. Can Blanco negotiate with the Dean for supplies or will the whole deal go south. The College does have hot food, coffee, water to bathe, and electricity and the group must decide to stay or go back out into the harsh world of Twilight 2000 in order to return Zofie to her home town.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP14 - "Red HEAT"
No place, no matter how secure it may appear, is safe from the harsh realities of the post-apocalyptic world. The survivor's short respite is shattered as Soviet artillery begins to rain down on the College, followed by a large-scale ground assault. It is chaos as the group, separated throughout the college, must find safety and each other if they hope to survive. There are consequences in every action, like letting a lone Soviet radio operator survive the battle on the bridge, in the dark and deadly world of Twilight 2000.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP15 - The Sum of all Fears
Chaos persists at the College. Our gang is split up into three groups, each fighting their own life or death battles as the Soviet troops close in on them.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP16 - The Last Action Hero
Episode 16 - "The Last Action Hero" finds our group of survivors still fighting for their lives at the College, beset by Soviet troops and their tank as well as an old rival at the college, as they try to escape from the battle. And although it appears that they may have turned the tide of battle, not all of them will live to see another day in the dark and deadly world of Twilight 2000.
Twilight 2000 4E - It's Always Cloudy in Kalisz - EP17 - ...and I Feel Fine
It is the end of the world as we know it and it is also the end of our story, for now. The remaining survivors flee the college as the Soviet assault continues. Bleeding, bruised, burned, and carrying with them one of their own, fallen in battle, the group stops by the river east of the college, near the bridge that will lead them east toward Zofie's home town. It is a moment of rest, healing, a time to come clean, and a time to say goodbye. But there is not time to rest for long, because there is no respite in the dark and dangerous world of Twilight 2000.
